The Medicaid Waiver Program helps participants develop the skills needed to work competitively at integrated sites throughout Oahu. Trained and qualified Direct Support Workers (DSWs) are available at various hours to help individuals develop identified skills, and create measurable goals needed to live and work in the community at large. Participants can take advantage of prevocational services and employment support groups as well.

All participants in this program are referred to Abilities Unlimited by the State of Hawaii Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division.  Personal Assistance and Habilitation Services (PAB-1), Adult Day Health Services (ADH), Community Learning Services (CLSG and CLSI), and Employment Services:  Discovery and Career Planning (DCP) and Individual Employment Supports (IES). Participants are provided with personal assistance on a number of skills including developing community access and learning appropriate personal habits and social skills.
